Indianapolis Apartments: How to Choose the Right Location

Places to Live from Downtown to Midtown

With many major employers on the north side of Indianapolis and downtown, traffic on Interstate 465 is heavy in both directions on most days. The fastest route to and from work is often through the city – and when you live inside the I-465 loop, your commute might be relatively painless.

Centrally located apartments in Indianapolis are ideal for people who work downtown or on the north side. When you’re close to Fall Creek Parkway, Allisonville Road, Keystone Avenue, and Binford Boulevard, you’ve got several options for getting to work.

Benefits of Living in a Central Location

In addition to making north-south travel easier, northside Indianapolis apartments that are south of I-465 give you easy access to some of the city’s major east-west thoroughfares – 38th Street spans the entire city, 56th Street stretches eastward from Keystone past Fort Harrison State Park, and Kessler Boulevard runs west from the Broad Ripple area to Michigan Road.

Of course, the ease of getting to and from work isn’t the only factor in choosing a location. Many renters also want to be close to stores, restaurants, or other businesses, which is why people like living in Broad Ripple and South Broad Ripple (SoBro).

Apartments Near Broad Ripple

The stretch of College Avenue between 46th Street and 62nd Street/Broad Ripple Avenue is a mix of commercial and residential properties, with eateries, live music venues, bars, and specialty retail shops. In the summer, SoBro residents often ride their bikes on the Monon Trail to their favorite hangouts in Broad Ripple.

Newly Remodeled Indianapolis Apartments

Some newer apartments in Broad Ripple are cost-prohibitive, but in the SoBro area, rent is usually more affordable. 7 Pointe apartments near 46th and Allisonville has modern, reasonably priced apartments for rent. Our newly remodeled apartments have gray plank flooring and spacious floor plans, and most units have balconies or patios.

Duplexes and homes for rent in Broad Ripple don’t offer the amenities you’ll find at 7 Pointe – a pool, fitness center, and media lounge, for example. When you live here, you’re close to great nightlife, restaurants, and shopping, and if you feel like staying in, you can entertain guests at the outdoor entertainment lounge with grilling stations.
